How to Go to Heaven
You Could Be Saved Today!
Do not let the idea of being saved confuse you. Being saved means a personal relationship with God. It means that when you leave this world you go to heaven and not to the lake of fire.
Being saved is not what many think. People do not become saved because they start living a better life, join a church, get baptized or say a prayer. People become saved only when they meet Jesus Christ as personal Savior. That happens only when you trust Him. Yes! You heard it right. You get saved when you trust Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Let me explain.
The Bible is the book where God has said what He thinks. According to Him all men are sinners by nature and practice. He says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). We all know He is right. One glance at our track record confirms lots of sins. No doubt you are very much aware that you are a sinner.
Sin condemns. There is a penalty to be paid. It is the death penalty. "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). "By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Romans 5:12). The news is bad for sinners. Sins must be addressed. They don't just go away. Because punishment of sins is not instantaneous it is easy to imagine that they will never be punished. That is not true. Judgment day is coming. God says, "As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God" (Romans 14:11-12). He also says, "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him"(John 3:36). If you are not saved, you are in harm's way. It is just a matter of time until you will be in the flames of everlasting torment with zero hope of escape.
You cannot rescue or save yourself. You are incapable of addressing your own sin problem. Build a castle, take a pilgrimage to a holy place, reform your life, be baptized, say a prayer, join a church; none of these will help you. Being saved does not happen because of any good thing you might do or say. Salvation is "not of works" (Ephesians 2:9). Without outside help you have no hope.
Your only hope is in a Savior. Someone must save you; do for you what no one can do for you. That includes whatever you might do for your own self. The Bible says,"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life" (Titus 3:5-7).
What a privilege it is for me to tell you that someone is ready to rescue or save you. Right now! Yes! "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). "Whosoever" includes you! God's own Son went to the cross and died for you. He "his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness" (1 Peter 2:24). He paid your death penalty. He shed His blood in your place. "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:6-8). "We have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins"(Colossians 1:14).
That is really good news. You are in desperate need of a Savior, someone to do for you what you cannot do for yourself. Without Him you are doomed to eternal damnation; with Him you have eternal life and heaven as your eternal destination. But, you must trust this Savior who has done everything necessary to keep you out of the lake of fire. Yes! You must trust Him; believe on Him in your heart! "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God" (John 3:18). So simple! Just trust Him in your heart "for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness" (Romans 10:10). Salvation is a matter of the grace of God; at the point of your faith in Him salvation is given to you without merit.
Will you trust Christ right now and be saved? He's eager and ready to save you. Yes, right now! You do not have to be in a church or some particular location. Salvation is not in a location; it's a heart matter. Trust Him as your own personal Savior and He will save you right now, on the spot, wherever you are! Jesus personally said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24).
You could be saved today. It's up to you. In your heart trust Jesus Christ as your own personal Savior and you will be saved. "He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life" (1 John 5:12).
